Eatery, Four Points by Sheraton has organised an event Year of the Yin Fire ROOSTER which was from 10th – 19th february. They have Recreated the Indo Chinese Fusion Cuisine from streets of Terretti & Bow Bazaar Kolkata.
From this Blog we will brief you with How Authentic Chinese Cuisine looks like and how wonderful it tastes.
We (Akshya – Akshya Digital Diaries & Nidhi – Treasure Muse) being the sisters with mutual passion for food blogging have been invited by the Markom of the Four points Neha Bothra to taste their Chinese Cuisine Fusion.
We met Chef Ganesh and Chef Arun Awasthi and both appeared to be very pleasant, smiling personalities as we started our conversation, they briefly told us about the ‘Authentic Chinese Cuisine’ and asked us to look at their special menu they have prepared for this event.
The menu was divided into 5 sections- Soup, Starter, Main Course, Rice & Noodles, Dessert.
Being a pure vegetarian blogger we had no option to choose from the soups so Our food session began with LEMON & CORIANDER SOUP.
Lemon Coriander soup is a part of Indo- Chinese Cuisine. It was completely made of lemon, corainder paste and which tasted great because it contained all the fresh vegetables.
Then when moved to Main Course and we had Chinese Green With Water Chestnut. As the dish was a part of Chinese Cuisine it had vegetables : Lettuce, broccoli, and water chestnut and “To make it more authentic chinese we have fried these vegetables in sesame oil- said,“ Chef Ganesh.
The next dish in the main course was Kao Soon Tofu. Tofu is something I personally do not like, although we have tried it.
As we Indians like to eat more spicy than sweet , so Chef Ganesh modified it with some garlic to give it a tangy taste. The tofu was completely fried with chilly, red and yellow pepper which made it flavourful.
Then Comes Pan Fried Noodles, You won’t believe the presentation was beautiful we couldn’t stop the camera to capture.
The noodles were again fried in sesame oil to gave it more authentic taste and were topped with vegetables like yellow pepper, broccoli, lettuce, babycorns and mushrooms.
I used the gravy of kao soon tofu and Chinese Green veggies dish to eat with Noodles because I like them more tangy.
“No meal is Complete without Dessert”
Last but not the least we had the dessert ” Banana Toffee”.
Have you ever tasted it? I bet You didn’t.
It was a dessert which was purely made of banana, coated with corn flour and then fried and again coated with sugar caramel and was garnished with caramel.
Desserts are the fairy tales of the kitchen
It Perfectly matched the qoute as the presentation was so magnificient.
The ambience was decorated with these macroons which made it more attractive.
We enjoyed our Chinese Fusion Cuisine with Neha Bothra, Chef Arun Awasthi, Chef Ganesh.
Thank you Four Points for having us there, We really enjoyed the tasting session.
